The MatrikonOPC Interface for SIMATIC 505 PLCs is an OPC compliant server that enables data exchange between OPC clients and 505 PLCs. The server provides read and write access to most register types, and supports extended addressing for PLCs with V registers greater than 65535. Connecting to the PLCs is done through the CTI 2572 Ethernet card. When an OPC client requests a connection to a specific Item ID the server automatically validates, configures and optimizes the request with existing data request packets.
