The MatrikonOPC Server for Siemens MPI provides connectivity to Siemens SIMATIC C7, M7 and S7 (such as S7-300 and S7-400) devices via the MPI adapter. The OPC Server connects to the MPI adapter (Siemens part number 6ES7972-0CA23-0XA0) with an RS232 (serial) connection. The MPI adapter then connects to multiple devices using RS485 (multidrop protocol). The MatrikonOPC Server for Siemens MPI provides both reading and writing capabilities to all available point types.
