The MatrikonOPC Modbus Interface provides connectivity to Modbus compliant devices such as any PLCs, RTUs, DCSs, and other Modbus devices. This robust server connects to multiple devices using one or more protocols at the same time. Each read/write with the devices is optimized to maximize throughput.
This server has been rigorously tested with hardware from vendors including ABB, Emerson, Honeywell, Koyo, Schneider (Modicon), Triconex, Yokogawa, and many others.
The MatrikonOPC Modbus Interface is an OPC compliant server that enables data interchange between OPC clients and Modbus compliant PLCs. Its easy installation and seamless configuration empowers the user to access open exchange of information between OPC compliant applications including historians, trending packages, HMIs, reporting applications, spreadsheets and others. OPCs plug-and-play connectivity enables users to focus on value-added business activities rather than struggle with complicated system integration problems. The MatrikonOPC Modbus Interface enables users to create truly scalable systems where they reap the benefit of being able to choose which components are appropriate for their system and not be vendor independent.
"The MatrikonOPC Server for Modbus helped us solve the problem of establishing the connection, which was the most difficult part of the project."

There are two versions available:
MatrikonOPC Modbus Plant Edition: This driver is typically used in manufacturing, batch or process plants. Communication takes place with a PLC, DCS IED, analyzer, or some other controller. These devices are often "wired" through a reliable medium such as Ethernet or serial cables.
MatrikonOPC Modbus Telemetry SCADA edition: This driver is typically used by industries such as pipelines, mines, oil fields, and utilities. Communication often takes place with an RTU and is frequently unreliable, noisy, slow, or expensive (modems, leased lines, radios, satellite, etc). The MatrikonOPC Server for Modbus has been developed to enable both round-robin and demand polling of RTUs.
