Abstract

This workshop starts with practical advice on installing, licensing, and configuring OPC software, including general information on troubleshooting OPC applications and architectures. Following this, participants engage in a series of practical exercises that demonstrate how OPC applications are used to overcome data connectivity challenges and requirements, including

data source federation,
secure communication,
secure network traversal,
information modelling and mapping, and
data publishing.

Materials Required

Participants are required to bring their own laptop computer to access the virtual environment and the documents provided in this workshop.

Instructor Information


Chris Carew

	Languages: English, French Over the course of a 30+ year career, Chris has worked as a trainer in both the Royal Canadian Air Force and civilian industry. In addition to his Training roles, he has worked as a technician in the avionics, computer, and process control environments. In the Lead Trainer role at MatrikonOPC, Chris has been responsible for executing the OPC Workshops, development of the OPC training material and certification of OPC trainers both within MatrikonOPC and amongst our training partners. Over the past 4 years, Chris has circled the globe, delivering OPC training to customers in industries as varied as automobile manufacturing, oil and gas, and wind turbine power generation.
