The MatrikonOPC Modbus Interface provides connectivity to Modbus compliant devices such as any PLC, RTU, DCS, etc. This server connects to multiple devices using one or more protocols at the same time. Each read/write with the devices is optimized to maximize throughput.
This server has been tested with hardware from vendors such as ABB, Emerson, Honeywell, Koyo, Schneider (Modicon), Triconex, Yokogawa, and many others.
The Matrikon OPC Server for Modbus PLCs is an OPC compliant server that enables data interchange between OPC clients and Modbus compliant PLCs. Each read/write with the PLC is optimized to maximize throughput.
There are two versions available:
Plant Edition: This driver is typically used in manufacturing, batch or process plants. Communication takes place with a PLC, DCS IED, analyzer, or some other controller. These devices are often "wired" through a reliable medium such as Ethernet or serial cables.
Telemetry SCADA edition: This driver is typically used by industries such as pipelines, mines, oil fields, and utilities. Communication often takes place with an RTU and is frequently unreliable, noisy, slow, or expensive (modems, leased lines, radios, satellite, etc).
