Matrikon co-exhibited an IoT demonstration with the Microsoft Azure and Microsoft Windows IoT team at the 2022 Hannover fair. Located at the heart of the Microsoft Pavilion, the joint live demonstration showed how Matrikon Data Technology (DT) could be combined with Azure UA Publisher and IoT Central to facilitate secure, two way communications between the shop floor and the Azure cloud.
The demo was built using Matrikon Data Broker (MDB) to facilitate shopfloor data source aggregation, context enhancement, and Azure integration. On the shopfloor simulation, OPC UA Tunneller served as a phased-migration component that enabled communications with OPC Classic components. Microsoft UA Publisher enabled communications with IoT Central and IoT HUB on the edge-to-cloud side.
Edge software ran on a compact, Intel Arm processor-based Matrikon Industrial Data Gateway (IDG).
