What does "Automatically Configure DCOM permissions" do when I install MatrikonOPC Software? |
Solution:
The 'Auto-Configure DCOM' option will change the DCOM options for the OPC Server you are installing as well as the MatrikonOPC software as follows:
1. It will set the user to the 'System account' for services or the 'Launching User' for applications.
2. It will add the following options to the Access Permissions:
i. Everyone
ii. Interactive
iii. Network
iv. System
3. It will add the following options to the Launch Permissions:
i. Everyone
ii. Interactive
iii. Network
iv. System
It will NOT touch the default DCOM permissions. |
