Problem:
Access Denied error or time out trying to connect to a remote OPC server via DCOM.

Solution:
Ensure that the access and launch permissions for the OPC server are set correctly on the server machine. For more information on how to configure DCOM, refer to the Appendix in your user’s guide titled Distributed COM (DCOM).

If you are attempting a DCOM connection across workgroup computers, or non-trusted Windows domains, you may have to perform additional steps to enable the OPC connection to work properly. These steps may include the need to create phantom accounts on both the OPC client and server computers that have Administrator rights. Due to possible security concerns, it is recommended that you use a tool like OPC Tunneller instead.
