The MatrikonOPC Server for OpenVMS Applications provides access to OpenVMS Global Data Segments. The OPC sever is installed on a Windows PC and uses the world-class MatrikonOPC GenCS technology to interface with an OpenVMS computer.
The OpenVMS global data segments are a shared memory block. The global section is shared among different processes (including custom applications written in FORTRAN, C, etc). The MatrikonOPC Server for OpenVMS Applications provides read/write access to this data using the Global Data Accesscr template code that can be tailored for site specific applications.
OpenVMS is an operating system from Hewlett Packard that runs on VAX and Alpha platforms. OpenVMS is used heavily in healthcare, semiconductor, telecommunications, financial, and manufacturing industries - anywhere that high reliability is required.
Features of the MatrikonOPC Server for OpenVMS Applications include:
- Fully compliant with all OPC DA (Data Access) specifications
- Permits read and write access to available data points
- Supports tag browsing
- Auto reconnect
