The ODBC Server for OPC enables ODBC access to any OPC HDA (Historical Data Access) Server and is fully compliant to Microsoft’s ODBC 3.5 specification.
Use the ODBC server to make OPC HDA data available to any ODBC-compliant application, including Crystal Reports and other report designers, database query tools, web pages, spreadsheets, and more.
Each OPC HDA Server is configured as a database in the Matrikon ODBC Server for OPC, with a unique database name. This unique database name is used in “ODBC Data Source Administrator” to specify the desired data source for the configured DSN.
By configuring data source names (DSNs) in the “ODBC Data Source Administrator”, any ODBC-compliant client application can query OPC HDA data.
Matrikon ODBC Server for OPC supports the following HDA functionalities:
- Browse items
- Get current item attribute
- Read raw
- Read at time
- Read aggregates (processed data)
- Insert
- Replace (update)
