OPC is the current industry standard for industrial connectivity, and has been proven to be a robust and economical solution for data connectivity problems both in plants, and in the field.
This Lunch & Learn will examine actual architectures in the Alberta's Oil Patch and present OPC solutions to the problem of remote data collection. Attendees will learn how commercial off-the-shelf software can be easily and economically implemented to save time, resources, and improve your company's bottom line.
This presentation will cover the following topics:
- An overview of OPC technology
- The relationship between OPC and SCADA technologies in Oil & Gas
- Polling Strategies
- How to get guaranteed data delivery by collecting and buffering data at remote well sites
- Transporting and consolidating your historical data
Upon completion of this Lunch & Learn attendees will leave with a firm grasp of what OPC technology is, and how they can leverage it in their company. A CD complete with trial software will be made available to each attendee with all the software required for further hands-on exploration of MatrikonOPC technology.
