Enbridge Energy Achieves Robust Redundancy

Enbridge Energy required a system that would quickly, reliably and cost effectively bring acquired pipeline assets into their system. Enbridge expected a solution that could be deployed out-of-the-box at other sites as they were acquired. A major challenge was to taking the requests from different customers – gas control, gas measurement, field control – and fulfilling their requirements with one product. Enbridge selected OPC redundancy solutions, which was software based and much less expensive than hardware redundancy systems, which require capital investment and physical installation.
